Actually, the new game is based on the 2004 musical of the same name that featured Gerard Butler, Emmy Rossum and Minnie Driver and was directed by Joel Schumacher. In turn, the film was based on the 1986 adaptation of the famous novel by famed English composer Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Webber’s musical stage production has played in front of audiences in 166 cities in 35 countries around the world. More than 140 million people have enjoyed the live performances that generated an estimated $6 billion. Critically acclaimed, the musical won 70 major theatre awards.

Many titles by Microgaming as well as free slot machine games can be played at various online casino sites across the internet.

Microgaming announced that it had entered into a licensing agreement with The Really Useful Group earlier this month. The new slot game is scheduled to be released later in the year.

Also earlier this month, Microgaming took home an award at the 10th International Gaming Awards held in London.

Microgaming was awarded top honors in the category of Mobile Product. In 2004, Microgaming became the first online gaming operator to develop mobile casino software. Since then, the company has gone on to create the largest selection of mobile titles with more than 350 games to choose from and new ones being released on a monthly basis.

“We are very proud to win the award for Mobile Product. We predicted that mobile would be the future of gaming back in 2004 when we created the world’s first mobile casino software, and we haven’t looked back,” Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming, said about the award.

“The platform is thriving and it is very much the future of our industry, with even more growth to come,” Raatgever continued. “It is great to receive recognition for our hard work and to be viewed by the industry as having the best mobile product out there. This is the perfect way to start what is sure to be the most incredible ICE Totally Gaming for Microgaming!”

In August of last year, Microgaming awarded the largest mobile jackpot ever. The €7,968,311.26 payout was won at Microgaming’s progressive jackpot slot Mega Moolah.

One of Microgaming’s biggest releases of 2017 appears to be Phantom of the Opera, a slot machine for which they signed a licensing agreement and which is based on the 2004 film, rather than the 1968 musical.

5 reels are going to be populated with a fixed number of ways to win, 243 of them since each column has 3 symbols. You will be able to experience a lot of very interesting features, such as wilds, multipliers, free games, bonus games and even random features.

Betting and Prizes

Microgaming Phantom Of The Opera

The game gives you the option to use a full betting range of $0.30 to $15. It pretends that it uses 30 lines, so that the betting is smoother, but it actually relies on ways to win for its combinations. The bet that you place on one line will vary between $0.01 and $0.50, which explains the total betting range. The number of bet lines is fixed.

You can’t expect for a huge payout to come your way just from regular combinations, especially since the wagers don’t have high margins. On the other hand, you can rely on multipliers and on a variety of other features to make the game’s RTP a good reason for you to try out the slot.

Features

There are several symbols inside Phantom of the Opera that will appear stacked, but covering only two positions on the reels, out of the three available. One of these symbols is actually the wild feature. You can expect the wild to do its job fairly often, particularly in a game where symbols don’t have to appear on fixed positions, just on the right columns. Don’t rely on wilds to substitute for Letter or Phantom Mask icons though, as those are both scatters.

Microgaming Phantom Of The Opera Synopsis

The game doesn’t rely only on special symbols to bring its features to life. It also triggers them at random, as it is the case with the Chandelier Bonus. If this feature does trigger for you, then you will find that the Chandelier of the Opera House will fall on the reels and will turn 2 or 3 into wild reels.

A simple feature, but coming via a scatter symbol, is the one offered by the Letter when it shows up on reel 5. The simple feature that results from this will get you a cash reward of up to 20x the bet.

One of the more interesting parts of the game will come via the Phantom Mask, a scatter that’s going to give you one of three potential features when it is in three positions or more. The choice is yours, to make between the free spins and bonus games that are available this way.

The bonus game is called Masquerade Pick and it gives you picks to make, as you pass through three levels. Winning additional picks is possible as well.

All I Ask of You is the name of one of the free spins features, with 10 rounds to give you and with Dancing Wilds acting as the extra features. 3x multipliers and 2x2 wilds are available inside.

Music of the Night also gives you free spins, and it’s still 10 rounds. The features are different though, giving you something random each round. You can get 2x to 4x multipliers, 2 to 5 additional free games, a maximum of 3 wild reels or up to 5 random wilds.

Theme & Design

I’m not crazy about the look of the game, but that’s natural since it’s inspired by an actual film from 2004 and it uses photos of the actors in several positions. It’s also going to have different objects from the film, such as masks, binoculars or red roses, among others.
